Kojacks is a favorite stop for a gyro & beer when going to Mission Beach. It is right near the beach, across from the Lifeguard station, roller coaster, etc. Their gyros (sounds like year-rose), are great. When we did this review, I overheard a customer say the gyros where the best he ever had.
Mike Soltan, the owner, is true Greek! And so are most of the people who work behind the counter cooking up the tasty, mouthwatering food. They have other Greek food, plus the American staples of hamburgers and fries (the fries have a good taste).
Personally, I have been visiting Kojack's for over 10 years. The friendly feeling there, the good food, and the closeness to the beach make it a favorite.
Two warnings! The food is HOT (temperature wise) normally when you get it! So don't burn your tongue. Second warning is that if you get a gyro, have plenty of napkins and eat over your plate. It can get very messy!
If you take your food to go, and walk over to the beach (what, about 30 feet?), it is fun to enjoy the food while enjoying the sun and the view. Just a suggestion.
