San Diego has several companies providing hot air balloon rides that normally start around the Del Mar area and float south-east from there. The hot air balloon rides normally are done at around sunset and can provide a heck of a different party!
Ever think of a glider party? In the La Jolla area of San Diego (yes, it is actually part of the city), there is the Torrey Pines Glider Port where people strap themselves to some wings and ride the thermals over Black's Beach (yeah, the nude beach). They do provide lessons there.... different party
Barnstorming! How about a party in a hanger? And people getting a chance to ride in an open-cockpit plane like in the old days? Or a World War II type plane? AWESOME!!! Oh, barnstorming is when a pilot takes his plane real down low to the ground and scares the heck out of people on the ground. They used to do it over fields and then just miss the barns... well almost always missed the barns.
